We can arrange to have a short talk on the phone to get a first idea of what I am like, ask questions you have about counselling, check if we have matching availability, and if wanted give me a brief idea of what you are looking for.
Initial Session
The initial assessment or intake session (£50) is a chance for the two of us to meet, to get an idea about whether we can work together.
There are no tests or questionnaires to fill out but I will ask questions about what has been happening for you, any previous therapy experiences, and what you are hoping to get if we chose to work together. I will also ask you to provide your contact details and those of your GP.
Mostly I am interested in hearing about what has brought you to counselling and therapy at this time, and what your aims might be. I will also talk to you about confidentiality, privacy, how I work ethically, and I will explain my supervision arrangements.
In the session we can discuss if the type of counselling I offer (person-centred) is appropriate for you at this time, and if needed we can discuss referring you on to another therapist or service. This pre-counselling session is also a chance for you to find out more about counselling and therapy, and assess whether you’d like to work with me. Availability
Sessions are on the hour, and last for 50 minutes. I have recently reopened to taking on new clients and will be having initial consultations online and in person in Kensal Green and West Hampstead until January; new sessions will start in January 2026.
- Mondays – Availability mornings 8.30am (online), afternoon 3pm, 4pm (West Hampstead), evenings fully booked
- Tuesdays – Availability mornings and afternoons (in person /online), evenings 5pm, 6pm (West Hampstead)
- Fridays – 10am available (Queen’s Park)
- Saturdays – Morning fully booked (West Hampstead)
Contact details and Location
West Hampstead Therapy Rooms are opposite West Hampstead Thameslink station, and very near West Hampstead underground (Jubilee) and overground (Mildmay) stations.
Lonsdale Road is a 5-minute walk from Queen’s Park station (Bakerloo and Lioness lines) or a 10-12 minute walk from Brondesbury Park station (Mildmay). The 6, 187, 206 and 316 buses all stop nearby.

50-minute face-to-face session in Queen’s Park or West Hampstead
Lower fees offered for those on low income / students (limited slots). Please ask about availability.

Sessions are invoiced weekly and payment can be made by BACS, card payment (online or in person), or cash.
Cancellations
Cancellations must be made 48 hours before a session, or the full fee is payable as a cancellation fee.
